The Wright Choice started playing together in the fall of 2004. Chuck Wright and Skye Clements were performing at Santa Caligon for the Mo-Kan Gospel Association, and were introduced to Dan Edson. We got together shortly after that and started working up acoustic music with a bluegrass influence. Shortly thereafter, we were joined by Renae Edson on the bass to round out the group. We play christian music exclusively and have approximately 12 original songs in our repertoire. We had a brief vacation this last few months as our lead singer Skye, gave birth to her second son. We are back in full swing again, and anxious to show our stuff. Chuck Wright is the leader of the group and is 54 years old from Grain Valley, Mo. He is a transplanted Okie that moved to the big city in 1999. He started playing guitar in 1965 and was primarily a rock and roll musician until 1995 when the acoustic side emerged and his faith in God was confirmed . He is a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Grain Valley and a member of the praise team of the same church. Skye Clements is 31 years old and also a resident of Grain Valley. She comes from a family of musicians and is an accomplished pianist and lead vocalist. She also is a member of the Kansas City symphony choir and regularly performs at their functions. Skye is also a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and is the worship leader for the praise team at Sunday services. Dan Edson, 41, is the lead player for the group. From Independence, Mo. he plays guitar, mandolin and the hammered dulcimer. He is also a gifted vocalist that sings lead on some songs and does a lot of the harmony work. He also comes from a family of long time musicians. He was raised up in the Branson area and has played with several groups, including Saints Alive, a local bluegrass band. Dans father builds fine musical instruments and crafted the hammered dulcimer that he uses today. Renae Edson is Dan's wife and the groups bass player. She plays the upright bass and is the groups spiritual leader. At 43, she has an extensive classical music background and also played with Saints Alive. Together, Dan and Renae have 4 children ranging in age from 3 to 17. Renae was born and raised in the Archie and Adrian part of mid western Missouri and also has a family history of musicians. Her grandfather was a multi time champion fiddler. We have played for several different churches over the last 18 months and played for the Methodist Church in Smithville last year when they first moved into their new church. We played last year for Christian Day at the I-70 speedway, Ridin for the Redeemer annual picnic for the Saved By Grace Ministry at Raymore, Mo, and we are scheduled to play at Mountain Music Shoppe on Sept 30. We are close friends of Randy and Elizabeth Davenport and regularly play at the same events as Randy. The enclosed CD is a demo that we recorded in March of this year. It features a song written by Peter Rowan (Dancin with the Angels), an original tune (Gods Promises) and a Rhonda Vincent tune (I've Forgotten You) We would be very honored to play on the Neighbors coffeehouse stage if you can manage to fit us in. It looks like you have plenty of talent to choose from, judging from your website.
